Method

  • Peel the onion and chop very, very finely. 
  • Put the onion in a saucepan and fry until golden (light/medium brown). Fry on medium heat. 
  • Add the oil and fry for another 10-15 min.
  • Add the chopped tomatoes and simmer for about 15 min.
  • When the onion and tomato are done, add 0.75 litres of water and simmer again.
  • Add Shiro powder a little at a time, stirring constantly. Take care to stir away any lumps. Finally, add salt and chopped garlic. Simmer for approx. 20 min while stirring.

  • 1 clove of garlic 
  • Salt to taste
